    TOUR in Kamantan - RIVER CRUISE ON BOARD Sekonyer, Tanjung Puting National Park

    Overview

    The culture and nature of the island of Kalimantan (Borneo) attract travelers from all over the world. One of the exciting routes for those visiting Balikpapan or Samarinda is to travel along the Mahakam River. There are amazing views here: wild orchids, Proboscis monkeys, orangutans, crocodiles, macaques. For lovers of adventure and diving, Kalimantan also offers unique opportunities. All this makes the island an ideal place for relaxation and unique experiences.

    Day 1
    PANGKALAN BUN – KUMAI – TANJUNG HARAPAN
    • Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport, you will be collected by our local staff and transferred to Kumai Port to board the Wow Kalimantan boat.
    • On our way to Tanjung Puting National Park, our first stop is Tanjung Harapan, an orangutan rehabilitation center.
    • After a short walk in the forest to the sites we witness the feeding at 15:00.
    • Late in the evening we slowly explore the quiet river to watch for proboscis monkeys and perhaps the sparkling fireflies in season at the nypa palms along the shore.
    • Dinner and overnight on the boat.
    Day 2
    FOREST WALK – CAMP LICKY
    • After breakfast, Klotok goes up the river, where you can see wild animals in the forests along the banks.
    • The boat turns from the muddy Sekonyer River after lunch.
    • We move slowly along the clear black waters of a side tributary to visit Camp Leakey.
    • Arrive at Camp Leakey for an easy walk along wooden paths through the forest to a wild orangutan feeding area.
    • Continue walking through the forest to observe orangutans in their natural habitat.
    • Return to Klotok and cruise down the river, watching animals and birds.
    • Dinner and overnight on board.
    Day 3
    PONDOK TANGUY - TANJUNG HARAPAN
    • After breakfast, Klotok goes up the river, where you can see wild animals in the forests along the banks.
    • The boat turns from the muddy Sekonyer River after lunch.
    • We move slowly along the clear black waters of a side tributary to visit Camp Leakey.
    • Arrive at Camp Leakey for an easy walk along wooden paths through the forest to a wild orangutan feeding area.
    • Continue walking through the forest to observe orangutans in their natural habitat.
    • Return to Klotok and cruise down the river, watching animals and birds.
    • Dinner and overnight on board.
    Day 4
    SECONYER RIVER – KUMAI – PANGKALAN BUN AIRPORT
    • During an early breakfast, Klotok moves slowly down the river, through the black tributaries, into the wilderness of the forests along the banks of the river, and then turns into the Sekonyer River.
    • We head to Pondok Tanggui, a rehabilitation center for new orangutans rescued from captivity, to watch the feeding at 9am.
    • In the afternoon we visit the Tanjung Harapan rehabilitation center, witness the feeding at 15:00 and have the opportunity to walk deeper into the forest.
    • Overnight on board.
    Day 5
    Tangkahan – Medan
    • Enjoy breakfast on board. The boat moves slowly down the Sekonyer River. This is the last opportunity to view wildlife along the mangrove shores.
    • After lunch, transfer to Kumai Port, then to Pangkalan Bun Airport for departure.
